Distance Education Sites

Below are a couple of sites that have compiled accredited distance education programs. Also you will find sites that offer free education courses

BA in 4 Weeks This is not a joke site. Read the site to find out how to earn a degree through one of three accredited university's by taking subject specific exams. The site also describes how a few people have done this within a month. There is also a good compilation of master's degrees by distance.
Jonnie's Distance Learning Page A good compilation of Master's and Ph.D. programs available by distance education (some residency may be required).
Free Education network A great site full of free courses.
BBC Training A site for technical and vocational training

Freemasonry

I am a mason in Edmonton, Alberta. I have also joined the concordant bodies up to shriner. I joined because I believe in supporting worthy causes and there is no end of wonderful people in masonry who give selflessly every day to see that children are helped or that people, down on their luck, can be helped somehow. Nobody makes a big deal of it, nobody tries to get their name in the paper, it just happens.

Freemasonry Origin A good website that explains the history of freemasonry and some FAQ's
Royal Arch Masonry RAM in Alberta, Canada
The Knights Templar website The Knights Templar, from which masonry descended
Shriners of North America The North American Shriners - Helping kids across America through philanthropic acts.

Amateur Radio

I believe that amateur (HAM) radio is not only a great hobby, it is also a technology that teaches through its practical applications of electronics, physics, and social studies.

Radio Amateurs of Canada
The Canadian amateur website. News, contacts, and tips on how to get involved in Canadian amateur radio,
eHAM.Net
A great site for news and homebrew projects.
Amateur Radio Relay League The definitive site for news and information about amateur radio.

SCUBA Diving

In February, 2006, I discovered a whole new world. At 12 - 18 meters under the sea I found some of the most beautiful fish and explored a wreck. At 30 meters under the surface of the water I met sharks, rays and saw some beautiful coral. Thus far, I've dived down to 40 meters. It's a wonderful experience to be down so far and feel so peaceful.

PADI.com PADI is the largest diving certification society. This site has news and information about how to get involved as well as locations to learn how.
Frontier Dive Shop The place I learned how to dive. The staff is friendy and well informed.
Sport Diver Magazine The official dive magazine of PADI. It has a lot of great news and features.
Philippines Travel Guide Information about Puerto Galera, where I went to learn how to dive. It is a beautiful place to stay.
